Eligibility Categories

AU0 – Not Eligible

Hearing Loss: 0–39 dB

Players do not meet the minimum requirement for Deaf/HoH events.

AU1 – State & National Eligible

Hearing Loss: 40–55 dB

  A person is considered to meet this level of hearing loss if their better hearing ear has an average hearing loss of 40 dB or more, based on a properly conducted hearing test.  

Eligible for State and National Championships, but not International events.

AU2 – International Eligible

Hearing Loss: 55 dB and above

  A person is considered to meet this level of hearing loss if their better hearing ear has an average hearing loss of 55 dB or more, based on a properly conducted hearing test.  

Eligible for State, National, and International competitions.
