Bushfire support - Nagambie Rowing Club

Published Tue 13 Jan 2026

The first week of January 2026 proved to be a challenging one for the region with temperatures in excess of 40C, catastrophic fire conditions, and a bushfire at Longwood resulting in devastating consequences for thousands of residents and farmers in the region.  In the days following this fire, some of the most immediate needs for farmers include hay and feed for surviving animal stocks, as well as fencing supplies and support to rebuild infrastructure destroyed by fire.  Supporting our community is of utmost importance to us at Nagambie Rowing Club.

To assist with these immediate community needs, the Nagambie Rowing Club has purchased $20k worth of hay and delivered it to the Longwood distribution centre at Tubb's farm.  We are incredibly appreciative to the Ewart family who have discounted the price of hay and provided free transport to Longwood, enabling us to purchase 240 round bales that have been delivered to Longwood for distribution to those in need.
