2026 Nagambie Regatta
What a weekend it was! Mother Nature smiled on us for two days with exceptional sunshine and minimal wind (most appreciated by rowing competitors!) for us to host 1400 athletes, as well as their supporters and coaches over the 2-day regatta.
A massive thank you goes out to all our volunteers for their efforts in the lead up, and during the weekend. No job was too difficult or mundane and everybody just jumped in to help for anything needing to be done. Call outs to these outstanding people, whose support and efforts ahead of the regatta were key to us being ready for a successful weekend.
- Sue Andrews - all of her hard work and dedication in setting up this regatta to be the success it has been over the years, as well as her notes and guidance formed the base of everything needing to be done for the weekend
- Sue, Dave, John, Bob - transporting of RV catamarans from Ballarat (and back) to facilitate umpire boat availability for the weekend
- Wendy, Lisa, Sinead, Wayne, Bob, John - for your tireless work in helping get supplies, clean and set up the regatta centre and boat park, as well as all of your work and support as volunteers during the weekend. And Wendy even managed to win herself a 1x race in amongst all of it!
And every volunteer over the weekend helping with timing, driving boats on the course, boat holding, bow numbers, canteen, retrieving supplies, handing out awards and endless other jobs, big and small, that drove the success of this regatta:
- Wayne, Trevor, Bob, Helen, Mick, Tracey - BBQers extraordinaire!
- Sinead, Wendy, Alex, Helena, Reilly - keeping the masses fed and watered all weekend in the canteen
- Lisa, Sally - wrangling a horde of teenage boatholders on the starting pontoon on Saturday
- Heather, Sue W, Katelyn - battling internet challenges and timing all of our competitors over the weekend
- Andy, Leigh, John, Harrison, Lisa, Barry, Mike, Terry - all things on water as boat drivers to ensure smooth running of the regatta
- Dianne, Karen, Catherine - our trusty bow number ladies who got to work with Des as he tested out his GPS race monitoring system
- Pat, Fran, Beth, Narina, Stephanie - organising medals and congratulating our winners on the finish dais
I hope I haven't missed any of you! What a team of people we have at the club!
