What To Bring/Wear

It depends on the weather; hot or cold. Overall we reccomend that you wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving around and being active in. Depending on the weather you may choose to wear long or short sleeve active wear. We recommend dressing in layers so you can take some layers off or put some back on - note during the actual session we will not have time for you to change out of jumpers out of PFDs, so if you choose to layer up, bring a JACKET which you can wear on top of your PFD. For footwear, we reccomend bringing anything you don't mind getting wet, many members opt for slides, crocs or aqua shoes.

  • Winter/Autumn paddling: It is a good idea to wear a windproof and/or waterproof jacket for protection against windchill , merino wool thermal clothing, nylon pants that won’t get too wet and are quick drying, aqua shoes/crocs/old runners you don’t mind getting wet.
  • Summer/Spring paddling: You should wear sunscreen, have a hat, sandals are good for footwear.

  • Always bring a water bottle to each practice. There are taps for water refill. Hydration is very important on cool or warm days.
  • Ensure that you bring a towel and dry clothes to change into after training as you will inevitably get wet.
