Brad Rosen President’s Address – 2022 Edition 1

Dear Maccabi Basketball members, families and friends,

I’d like to extend a warm welcome and thank you to all for your continued support through 2022 and beyond. It has been great to see the club trend in such a positive direction over the course of the past few years, largely as a result of the enthusiasm of our Committee and members.

It’s been great seeing passion and excitement for basketball continue to grow across the Maccabi community into 2022, which has been reflected across all age groups of our club. Ironically, despite the hardships of the past 2 years, Maccabi Basketball has continued to prosper, with registrations now increasing for the third consecutive year.

We are pleased to have committed over 350 Members to the CSBA and EBL competitions. Additionally, we are currently providing 6 weekly ‘training only’ sessions for kids to build their skills to one day join a team. We have also commenced training with 3 new sets of groups at Kesser Torah College, in addition to continuing our relationship with Mount Sinai. Moreover, we continue to be pleased with our seniors program, who have this term entered 5 teams into CSBA competitions. The Seniors serve as great exemplars for our junior players to look up to, and one day join.

A major highlight of the start of our 2022 season has been the addition of our new, 2022 remodelled uniforms and Maccabi Basketball kit. For me, a big focus for this year was making sure each one of our players felt a sense of belonging at Maccabi Basketball. As a result, we’ve provided all players with a brand-new playing jersey, reversible training kit, playing shorts, water bottle, as well as a Maccabi Basketball duffle bag, customized with each player’s initials. We hope this has helped all our players feel at home at Maccabi, whilst looking great on the court thanks to our well-designed jerseys.

I’ve personally loved seeing the new Maccabi blue and white strip gracing basketball courts across Sydney, and think our players stand out for all the best reasons.

I would also like to thank our very hard-working committee, coaches and managers. To run a club of this size is not easy but the time all these individuals give up is outstanding. Thank you so much for contributing to our great sport and we look forward to it continuing to prosper in 2022 and onwards.

Finally, I’d like to thank all 5 of our major sponsors for 2022, who have made the acquisition of these new uniforms and kits possible for all members. It is a great honour and privilege to have these 5 amazing brands supporting Maccabi Basketball, allowing us to provide an interactive and enjoyable experience for all players and parents. I am once again extremely excited for the year ahead, and hope to witness yet another year of growth and prosperity for the club.
