A Strong History

Milawa was one of five inaugural members of the Ovens and King Football Association, which was brought into being by a meeting at the Bull’s Head Hotel, Wangaratta on 13th June 1903. Since its inception Milawa has featured in many finals series and has also spent some time in the rebuilding phase. More recently Milawa has experienced success on the football field, Premiers and Champions in 2019 and have fielded strong sides in 2020 and 2021 finishing top of the ladder in both seasons. Our netball club has also featured in many finals series over the years across all grades and are well known for their on court professionalism, camaraderie and dedication to achieve the ultimate result.

In 2022 Milawa fielded Senior and Reserve Football sides, A, B and B Reserve, U17 and U15 netball teams and 4 Junior Development netball teams that represented the club in the Wangaratta Netball Association. A successful season saw our Senior and Reserve Football both featured in the Oven's & King FNL Final Series. Our A, B, B Reserve and U17 netball teams made it through to the Grand Final with our B Grade and U17's finishing the season as Premiers and Champions.
