Melville Men’s Softball Club was founded in 1981 by Mike Eames, and we recently celebrated our 40th Anniversary.
The club has established a reputation as a friendly, inclusive and welcoming club with a diverse membership. In the last 25 years we have had players from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Venezuela, Cuba and of course numerous Australians.
Our members are loyal, at least 15 of our players have been with us for over ten years and a handful has played with us for over twenty years. Many of our ‘retired’ players still actively support the club. We currently have about 30 active players.
We look forward to teaching the game to new members whether they are 14 or 64 and we warmly welcome players into the Melville Softball family.
We have been happily established at Winnacott Reserve for the last 20 years. Previous to that we have called Tompkins Park and Troy Park home. We share Winnacott with the East Fremantle Amateur Football Club and the Kardinya Kats Junior Football Club.
We have had success in all of our divsions over the years. We usually field one team in the summer Masters comp and currently have two teams in the winter competition and we are looking forward to another fun and successful year. While on field success is wonderful, our main aim is to provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where fun and comradeship are the most important goals of our club.
