The Eastern Golf Club is one of the oldest in the country being able to trace its origins back to 1896. The club relocated from Doncaster to their beautiful home on the Yarra River at Yering in July, 2015.
Eastern's illustrious history includes some of Victoria’s most prominent figures. Celebrated surgeon, Sir Thomas Naughton Fitzgerald, built the grand Doncaster home that was the former clubhouse and Dame Nellie Melba’s father, David Mitchell, built a cottage there. John Gardiner established the Yarra Valley’s very first European settlement where the Club’s accommodation experience, Yering Gorge Cottages, are located.
With a philosophy to create an environment in harmony with the broader landscape, The Eastern Golf Club commissioned Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) to design the 27-hole championship standard course plus Shark Waters – a Par-3 nine-hole course.
Receiving outstanding reviews from members and guests, the highly playable, member friendly design complements the existing topography whilst ensuring the spectacular natural features of the stunning setting and dramatic views of the surrounding Christmas Hills and Dividing Ranges are maximised to enrich the playing experience.
Entry fee for Golf Section members is $185 and $220 for guests.
Cost includes green fees, prizes, light breakfast or luncheon and a two course plated lunch or dinner with wine after golf. Cart fee is $50 - you must book carts directly with the golf club.
Numbers of players will likely be limited to 96 for each field.
