Given that we have missed 3 to 4 full rounds of football ⚽ this year thus far (as has BHSC with whom we co-use fields) and the logistical difficulties in rescheduling those missed rounds on a Monday or in the school vacation period the following amendments are to be made to the O45s and O50s Competitions.

 

The O55s shall continue to play at 6.30pm as currently .. unless the fields are too wet!

 

1. The O45 and O50 Competition draw shall be amended such that instead of finishing in late May, they shall be extended to now finish with the Grand Final being played on first Wednesday in July.

 

2. By extending the season to July we are able to schedule all the previously postponed rounds for a Wednesday evening rather than trying to play catch up games on Mondays - (Round 4 draw results shall however stand).

 

3. There still may be weeks where 1 or 2 games will need to be scheduled on the Monday. Please be assured Monday night games shall be avoided if at all possible.

 

4. NO GAMES SHALL BE SCHEDULED DURING THE NEXT TWO WEEKS (School Holidays Qld).  

 

5. The next round of Competition Games shall be on Wednesday 23 April.

 

6. Games shall most probably need to be scheduled on State of Origin Wednesdays however will be moved to the Monday if fields are available.

 

Any team which does not wish to proceed under these amended timeframes may withdraw and receive a pro rata refund of the Team Fee paid.

 

During the upcoming School Vacation (viz next 2 weeks) GCMF shall make field space available between 6.30pm and 8.00pm on Wednesday for teams to train, practice and have a kick around .. hopefully the fields shall be dry! As field space shall be limited it is highly unlikely that actual 11 vs 11 friendly games can be catered for.

 

We shall publish an amended schedule of games as soon as we confirm the dates that BHSC requires the use of Field 1 on a Wednesday night.
