Compliance

Maccabi Netball Compliance Officer

Maccabi Australia’s release of its Member Protection Handbook in 2014 provided a new compliance structure that has been implemented to deal with any breaches of the new rules and the codes of conduct.

Maccabi’s Member Protection Policy (MPP) is not only related to issues of child protection. It also deals with a range of other issues including:

  • The appropriate boundaries that should exist between child and adult, between coach and player, between committee member and coach etc.;
  • The rights and responsibilities of all those involved with our organisation – for those of us involved in key roles, it is essential that you understand where you stand legally and morally;
  • How we can create a culture where bullying and any form of discrimination will not be tolerated; and
  • How we can create an environment where all Maccabi members, children, young people and adults can enjoy their Maccabi experience in a safe and secure environment and their rights will be respected and dealt with in a fair, equitable and timely manner.

Ricky Roth is our club’s Member Protection Compliance Officer. He is the first port of call for all member protection issues as well as any complaints or grievances that may emerge. If the matter cannot be resolved at club level, it will usually be referred to the relevant State Body’s Maccabi Integrity Officer (“MIO”).

Ricky's primary role is to ensure that all Maccabi representatives, and anyone otherwise engaging in child-related work and who is required to undergo such checks under relevant legislation, must undergo a Working With Children Check (WWCC).

He will be ensuring that Maccabi Netball has a record of:

  • all our committee having a valid WWCC
  • all our coaches having a valid WWCC
  • that all managers and coaches have attended or will attend any future MPP trainings.

If you have any questions, please contact Ricky Roth at mpp.netball.nsw@maccabi.com.au
