The other Maccy players on the Under 23 Men's team include Luke Kirpensteyn, Lachlan Marshall (Tas), Matthew Pendleton, Christian Rothall and Kaleb Zakelj.

The Under 23 Men's team officials are all Maccy representatives - Head Coach Jarome Vernocchi, Assistant Coach Kris McLeod, Manager Coen McLeod and Scorer Karlyn McLeod.

Maccy was also well represented at the 2023 Junior State Championships in the Riverland with players in both the Hills and NAMSA Under 18 teams - Christian Rothall, Tom Galgey, Jackson Jones, and Ajax Westren-Schapel, with Kris McLeod coaching and Catherine Westren managing.

Maccy raised the standard for 2024 Senior State Championships representations - there's too many to name, and I don't want to leave anyone out! Safe to say, there were Maccy players in a lot of teams across all divisions and grades.

And then at the State Team level, Maccy stepped up and delivered.

The inaugural Under 23 Men's State Team was led by an all-Maccy officials squad - Head Coach Jarome Vernocchi, Assistant Coaches Kris McLeod and Matt 'Junior' Schapel, Scorer Karlyn McLeod, and Manager Catherine Westren. And the players representing Maccy were Christian Rothall, Axel Westren-Schapel, Cooper Pedersen, Ajax Westren-Schapel and Kaleb Zakelj. Of the 19 players and officials, TEN were from Macclesfield.

At the Softball SA State Awards Night, the Under 23 Men's MVP Award went to Kaleb Zakelj.

In the Under 18 Boy's State (and also the School Sport SA 18 Years & Under School Boys) Team was Ajax Westren-Schapel. The School Boys team, for which Ajax was Vice Captain, achieved South Australia's first medal in that age group, finishing with a bronze medal. Ajax also helped coach at the Softball SA 2024 Dragons Camp.

In 2022-2023, Maccy had players across junior teams, as well as their own B & C Grade Women's teams, 3 Division 2 Men's teams, and the Men's Division 1 team. The Maccy Red Div 2 Men's teams made it into the Grand FInals, once again.

For the 2022-2023 season, our Coaches were some extremely experienced players.

  • Women's B Grade - Lisa Lions
  • Women's C Grade - Sam Williams
  • Div 1 & Div 2 Black - Jarome Vernocchi
  • Div 2 Red - Kris McLeod
  • Div 2 White - Sean Wuttke

In 2021-2022, they fielded a Division 1 Men's, and 3 Division 2 Men's teams, as well as a B/C Grade Women's team. The Maccy Div 2 Red Men's and Div 2 White had success - with White winning the Plate, and Red coming home as Div 2 premier's, breaking a 13-year drought. The C Grade Women made it into the GF, but were pipped at the post.

In the 2020-2021 season, they fielded a Division 1 and Division 2 Men's team. Both teams made it to the Grand Finals.
