About

Leongatha Table Tennis Club was founded in 1963.

The club has moved locations over the years.

Starting at the recreation reserve in the same shed we occupy today, originally called the chook shed.

The club moved to the Leongatha Sports Stadium at 16 Smith Street for a number of years until the council sold the building for the development of a Cinema.

Table Tennis then moved to Leongatha Secondary College and rented the Derecott Sports centre.

Council was developing a new sports stadium and pool at the Recreation Reserve, Table Tennis had to decide on where to now.

After many meetings it was decided to put our funds into our own permanent home and not have to put up tables each week.

The official oppening was on 25 Feb 2006, Photo below has Roy Comrie (founding member) past members Bill Holwerda, Bill Freeman and Fred Debondt.

This has made it possible to run a twice weekly event for keenagers.Roy Comrie founding member
