With a best time of 0:59, LAD claimed the gold medal at the 2026 Acworth-Cobb Dragon Boat Festival.

In 2012 a small group of Beaufortonians heeded the call from the featured documentary “Awaken the Dragon”, shown at the Beaufort International Film Festival and from this inspiration DragonBoat Beaufort was formed. DragonBoat Beaufort (DBB) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to assisting cancer patients who live, work, or receive treatment in Beaufort County. We are a fund of the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

The team is now registered for the Acworth-Cobb Festival on 05/02/26.

Several of our Lake Acworth Dragons traveled south for the Peachtree City Dragon Boat Festival on September 27, where our all-ladies team took the GOLD in the Premier Women's Competitive Group B category.
