About

The Kellerberrin Hockey Club, based in Kellerberrin, has a proud history rooted in community participation and the growth of regional sport.

The club’s ladies team was established in 1964, during a time when women’s hockey was gaining momentum across rural Western Australia. Formed through strong local interest and community spirit, the team quickly became a central part of the town’s sporting identity. Despite the challenges faced by regional clubs—such as travel distances and limited resources—the ladies side achieved consistent success at a local level and built a reputation for determination, teamwork, and resilience. Their longevity reflects decades of commitment from players, volunteers, and supporters.

The club expanded again in 2006 with the formation of the men’s team after several years without one. This marked a significant new chapter, broadening participation and strengthening the club’s presence within the regional hockey competition. The men’s side brought renewed energy and helped foster a more inclusive, family-oriented club environment.

Our Junior team is the future of our club. Created around the same time as the ladies side, we have fostered the growth of new players and have seen many generations of players take the field at the same time. Our junior team continues to thrive and be an important part of our club and community.

Today, the Kellerberrin Hockey Club continues to thrive as a vital part of the local community, with both its women’s and men’s teams contributing to a strong tradition of participation, sportsmanship, and regional pride.
