Ticket to Play is a Tasmanian Government initiative designed to reduce the cost of sport and active recreation membership and/or registration to eligible children. Ticket to Play provides two voucher worth up to $100 each towards club membership fees for children aged 5 - 18 years who are listed on a Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card, or are in Out of Home Care. Vouchers can be used at two different activity providers, or both can be used at one activity provider. The key objective of Ticket to Play is to increase the number of young Tasmanians participating in sport an active recreation.

Individual Judo Tasmania Clubs may be Ticket to Play providers.

Who is eligible for a voucher?

Applicants must be:

  • Aged between 5 and 18 years old at the time of application, and
  • Listed on a valid Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card (either their own or their parent, guardian or carer's) or be in Out of Home Care.

Special consideration may apply if the child is aged 5 to 18 years, is a resident in Tasmania and meets the following criteria:

  • The child/family is a temporary or provisional visa holder, undocumented migrant or international student.

Ticket to Wellbeing

The trial Ticket to Wellbeing program aims to increase the number of older Tasmanians active in sport and active recreation and reduce the membership and/or registration cost for these activities for those that are eligible. If you are living in Tasmania, are 65 years old or over, and are listed on a Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card, then you can apply for a $100 voucher to use towards the cost of sport and active recreation membership and/or registration.

Veterans Wellbeing

The Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of Tasmanian veterans. The Veteran Wellbeing Voucher Program  reduces the cost of sport and active recreation membership for eligible Tasmanian veterans, and for a partner/spouse of a former service member with a DVA Pensioner concession card (PCC), or a war widow/er with a DVA Gold card. The objective of the Program is to enable veteran’s participation in healthy activities that will support their health and wellbeing and help build social networks. Eligible applicants can apply once per financial year for two vouchers valued at $100 each ($200 total) to reduce the cost of registration or membership at participating gyms, active community recreation, and sporting clubs.
