Jem Calisthenics College

Club Membership Conditions

In accordance with our Constitution, all members of this Club are deemed to be members of Jem Calisthenics College Incorporated and, as such, are subject to the following conditions:

General Conditions

  1. Registrations and Club Levies must be paid on or before 14 February.
  2. All pupils are expected to attend all scheduled lessons regularly, except where prevented by illness. If unable to attend, the appropriate coach must be notified prior to the lesson.
If a class is missed, payment is still required. Lessons are payable weekly.
  3. Each pupil is required to make regular payments into their competition costume account. Costume accounts must be finalised prior to the team’s competitions. Minimum payments, as specified in the newsletter, must be paid by the due dates.
  4. All pupils must have cleared their accounts and be fully financial by 15 September to be eligible to receive awards at the Celebration Concert.
  5. All pupils, whether current or past members of the Club, are expected to hire out or sell any costumes required for team items in subsequent years.
  6. Pupils leaving the Club prior to competitions, after costumes have been purchased, will not be eligible for a refund of any monies held in their costume account.
  7. Pupils leaving the Club must notify the Principal Coach or Secretary in writing and will be charged for all lessons up to the end of the current term.
  8. All families are required to take an active role in Club fundraising activities.
  9. No coach of the Club can be held responsible for accidents that may occur during lessons.
  10. If you are unhappy with any matter, it must be raised with your Team Coach, Team Manager, or Principal Coach. Issues are not to be aired on Facebook or other social media platforms.
  11. Each section will be allocated a competition date where that age group is required to volunteer at the theatre, as requested by CASA. It is the responsibility of families within that section to ensure all volunteer spots are filled.
  • Sub Juniors – Graceful
  • Tinies / Juniors – State Competitions
  • Intermediates – Solos
  • Seniors – State Competitions

In addition, each family is required to volunteer at least once during the year at a Club event (e.g. Bunnings BBQ, Club Concert, costume sewing, etc.).
A charge will be applied to your account at the end of the year if you have not contributed. As a small club, assistance from everyone is essential.

  1. By acknowledging the below, you provide consent for your child to be under their coach’s duty of care and grant permission for your child to be transported in vehicles to competitions or other practice halls when required.
  2. By acknowledging the below, you consent to the use of your email address as the primary method of communication for Club news. If you do not have an email address, a printed copy of the newsletter will be provided.
  3. The Club website and Facebook page contain information regarding Club events, team photos, and results, which may include pupils’ names.

Code of Ethics and Responsibilities

Notwithstanding the objectives of Jem Calisthenics College Incorporated, the following Code of Ethics and Responsibilities (“the Code”) has been introduced under the authority of the Executive Committee.

This Code is binding on participating members, associate members (parents and guardians), life members, and junior participants.

Participating Members

  1. Control your temper – swearing, physical, racial, or derogatory abuse will not be tolerated.
  2. Never argue with an official – seek advice from your coach.
  3. Treat all participating members as you would like to be treated. If you cannot say something constructive, do not say anything at all.
  4. Cooperate with all coaches and officials – without them, there would be no Club or competition.
  5. No negative, derogatory, or misleading comments are to be published on social media relating to Jem Calisthenics College, its members, or coaching staff.

Parents and Spectators

  1. Team placements are at the discretion of the coach and are final. No further discussion will be entered into.
  2. Focus on the team effort rather than individual performance – calisthenics is a team sport.
  3. Demonstrate appropriate behaviour at all times. Foul, racist, or abusive language, harassment, text messaging, or cyberbullying will not be tolerated.
  4. Respect coaching decisions. Coaches volunteer significant time and effort for all participants. Any concerns must be raised through official channels, not publicly.
  5. Show respect to opposing teams. Applaud good performances and effort from all participants.
  6. Do not approach coaching staff during training sessions. Any issues should be raised at the conclusion of the session.
  7. No negative, derogatory, or misleading comments are to be published on social media relating to Jem Calisthenics College, its members, or coaching staff.

Complaints

If a participating member, parent, or coach has concerns regarding any matter relating to the Club, please contact the Principal Coaches or Executive Committee so the issue can be addressed appropriately.

By acknowledging the below, I agree to my child’s name and/or photographs being used on Jem Calisthenics College’s website, Facebook page, or other advertising and Social/promotional media.

Thank you
