Our History

Herbert River Athletics Club has a strong history in the Ingham community, fostering athletics development for athletes of all ages.

For many years, our club was based at George Day Oval, a well-known local sporting ground that served as the heart of athletics in the region. Generations of young athletes trained and competed there, building their skills and passion for the sport. However, as the club grew and facilities needed to be improved, the decision was made to relocate to Ingham State High School to better support our athletes with updated infrastructure.

The move to Ingham State High School has provided new opportunities for the club, allowing us to continue delivering quality athletics programs in a more accessible and well-maintained facility. The transition has strengthened our ability to host  training sessions, and competitions, ensuring a bright future for athletics in the Herbert River region.

Today, we remain committed to developing athletes in a supportive and family-friendly environment while honoring our history at George Day Oval.
