Welcome to Giants Softball Club! Founded in 1987 by a small group of passionate local women - many of whom are still involved today - we have grown into a vibrant, family-oriented club with a proud history of playing excellent softball and fostering a strong sense of community. Our club is based at Karbeethan Reserve in Evanston Gardens, where we field teams for all ages and skill levels, from T-ball for children aged 3 and up, through mixed junior teams, to competitive senior women’s softball. We are committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment where families and individuals can come together, connect, and enjoy the game of softball in a friendly, supportive setting.

Throughout our history, we have had players compete at various levels, including regional, state, national, and even international competitions. Our talented players have represented South Australia at the SAPSASA state carnival, competed in the Softball SA Junior and Senior State Championships, and participated in School Sport Australia Championships, represented Australia at the Easter Classic in New Zealand (2023), as well as being part of Australian Development Squads and the U18 Talent Development Squad. These achievements reflect our dedication to development and fostering a lifelong passion for sport.

Looking ahead, our three-year strategic plan is focused on strengthening our club in key areas. We aim to enhance governance and administration to ensure financial stability and smooth operations, so we can continue to grow and support our members. Building a warm, inclusive, and lively community remains a top priority, where every member, volunteer, and supporter feels valued and connected. We also plan to increase our visibility through promotion and branding efforts to attract new players and retain current members. Most importantly, we are dedicated to long-term growth and sustainability by creating pathways for player development, expanding our membership, and planning for the future of the club.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the sport and our community, we are focused on increasing membership, especially at the junior level, to ensure continuous development and enjoyment of softball. Providing pathways for young players and encouraging their growth is vital to us, with the goal of fostering a lifelong love of the game.

With a $3.5 million development project underway at Karbeethan Reserve - including a new softball diamond currently hosting both junior and senior games, we are excited about the future. The ongoing housing boom in the northern area means we are well-positioned to offer a safe, friendly, and welcoming sporting environment for families and players throughout the region.

Our season runs from October through to March / April each year, and we warmly invite new players of all ages and skill levels to join us.
