FWDV Update

I would like to thank everyone who attended the recent Presidents and Delegates meeting. Our guest speaker, Georgie Parker from Parks Victoria, spoke about the organisation’s recent meeting with the Portland Dune Buggy Club concerning its lease and access to the Discovery Bay beach. Further details will be provided in a linked article.

We also provided updates on the organisational restructure, our current KPIs, the Rowville building project, the Toolangi training ground, the review of the association rules, the formation of a new multiple-membership working group and our current financial position. Minutes of the meeting will be available on our website within the next week.

We are making good progress on our KPIs attached to our current government funding, as summarised below with some projects at 50% completion.

In closing I look forward to seeing many of you at our AGM next month.

Annual General Meeting

If you haven't already, save the date in your calendars for the upcoming FWDV AGM.  The AGM will be held on the 26th of October at the Manningham Hotel.

Welcome Poppy!

Poppy has recently started at Four Wheel Drive Victoria in the recently advertised Media and Business Support Coordinator Position. 

We look forward to seeing the impact and change she brings to FWDV's media presence as well as her assistance behind the scenes at the office. We know she will bring great things in helping drive FWDV forward. 

FWDV Contact Hours October

Please note that between 29 September and 23 October, FWDV will be operating on reduced office hours while Daniel is on leave for his honeymoon!

During this period, the FWDV office will be open on Tuesdays (all day), Thursdays (1pm-5pm) and Fridays (all day). Normal office hours will resume following Daniel’s return.

National 4x4 Show Recap

FWDV would like to thank the six board members and fourteen club members, representing nine clubs, who gave up their time to volunteer wth FWDV over the National 4x4 Show weekend.

The event was a great success for the five clubs that had their own marquees or stalls, with nearly 100 new members signing up across our clubs who took up the offer of a free site at the show.

At the FWDV marquee, we spoke with many visitors who had travelled to Melbourne for the weekend and were looking for information about rural and regional clubs. Unfortunately, we had only a few brochures for those clubs on hand. With the Lardner Park show coming up in February, we encourage any club that can't attend or supply volunteers to send its brochures to the FWDV office so we can promote them to interested visitors.

Thank you again to Saber Offroad for hosting the winching demos with us. These demos always bring in a big crowd and help to promote not only training through FWDV but also through our clubs. 

With official numbers now relased and over 35,000 visitors were recorded across the three days. It shows the benefit of the show with the crowds it received. We look forward to being back next year, with more clubs eager to sign up more members!

Club Stickers

All club stickers have now been sent via mail if your club have not collected these in person. 

Please keep an eye out for them. They have been sent to the nomiunated club postal address.

Club Chainsaw Courses

Is your club helping out with Seasonal Track Reopening later this year? 

It's not too late to set up a chainsaw course to get more members signed off. FWDV are looking to assist and run chainsaw courses for clubs. If your club has interested members, please register interest by clicking HERE.

• FPWCOT2273 - Trim and Cut Felled Trees

Cost

discounted to $495 for all FWDV members, normally $975.

Duration

2.5 days. The course is structured to run with a 3 hour theory session followed by 2 full days of practical work. 

Updating New and Temporary Club Members

We love seeing more members joining up to our afflifated clubs, espically a massive uptake in many clubs after the National 4x4 Show!

As new members sign up for your club do not forget to notify FWDV as well as pay required fees. To do so, simply follow the link HERE. Please note, we are asking clubs to no longer email these lists but to use this link to assit with admin work. 

When you follow this link there will be serveral forms you can use and submit. The normal membership template and a blank invoice form you can use to calculate FWDV membership fees.

Club Training Review

Most clubs have now completed their audit of FWDV provided training. Thank you for your assistance with this. 

If your club has not yet been contacted regarding this and you run training provided by FWDV, please know that Daniel will be in touch shortly. If you have any questions regarding the audit, please email Daniel at operations@fwdvictoria.org.au

This audit ensures ongoing continuous improvement to the FWDV provided training for clubs. As well as maintaining accurate records and training performance of this program. 

Club Info Package Nominations

FWDV is looking for club input to help create an info pack for clubs to assist club executives at any stage of a club's journey. 

While FWDV can create this ourselves, we would like input and ideas from our clubs to ensure we are providing resources that are relatable and desired by clubs. 

If you are interested in helping to create this resource for all affiliated clubs to use, please fill in the survey. This survey will be open until 15th November.
