Elite Baseball Coaching – Terms & Safety Commitments

Effective Date: 19 July 2025

Our Commitment to Athlete Wellbeing and Excellence

Elite Baseball Coaching exists to develop confident, disciplined, and skilled athletes in a safe and high-performance environment. We believe every young player deserves to be coached with integrity, professionalism, and care—both on and off the field.

We hold ourselves to high standards of safety, preparation, communication, and respect. All participants and families share responsibility in upholding that environment.

1. Child Safety and Working with Children

We are fully committed to creating and maintaining a child-safe environment in compliance with Queensland legislation, including the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.

All staff and volunteers:

  • Hold valid Blue Cards (Working with Children Checks)

  • Undergo annual child safety and boundaries training

  • Are recorded in our internal Blue Card Register and reviewed quarterly

  • Follow a strict code of conduct for professional behaviour and supervision

If you have any concerns about the wellbeing or safety of a child, you are encouraged to raise it directly and confidentially with our Child Safety Officer.

2. Risk Awareness and Participation Acknowledgment

Participation in sport and athletic training carries inherent physical risks. These include, but are not limited to, soft tissue injuries, falls, or accidental contact with equipment or other players.

By attending our programs, you acknowledge that:

  • You voluntarily accept these risks as part of training and competition

  • You agree that coaches and staff will take all reasonable steps to maintain a safe training environment

  • You have disclosed all relevant medical or physical conditions that could affect participation

We recommend all families maintain appropriate personal health insurance.

3. Coaching Environment and Behavioural Expectations

We expect all athletes, families, and visitors to contribute to a respectful, focused, and inclusive culture. This includes:

  • Arriving prepared and on time for training

  • Using positive language and showing respect for teammates and coaches

  • Avoiding disruptive, unsafe, or negative behaviour

  • Supporting your child’s development without coaching from the sidelines

Abuse, bullying, harassment, or unsafe conduct from any participant, parent, or staff member will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal.

4. Media, Photos, and Video

Occasionally, images or video may be taken during training for instructional purposes or to promote our programs. This material:

  • Will be handled respectfully and stored securely

  • Will never include identifying personal details without consent

  • May be used in promotional content unless a parent/guardian opts out in writing

You may withdraw image consent at any time by contacting us directly.

5. Feedback, Concerns, and Complaints

We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome constructive feedback from all families.

If you have a concern, you are encouraged to:

  • Raise it promptly and respectfully with the coach or director

  • Use written communication where appropriate for clarity

  • Trust that your concern will be treated confidentially and in good faith

We aim to resolve concerns quickly and fairly. Serious complaints involving child safety or misconduct will be escalated and handled in accordance with our legal reporting obligations.

6. Policies and Documentation

Elite Baseball Coaching maintains detailed policies on:

  • Child safety and supervision

  • Risk management and venue assessment

  • Staff training and Blue Card verification

  • Athlete conduct and grievance procedures
