Who can play basketball?

At Tigers we encourage all ages and skill levels to play basketball. 

For our younger players ages 4-6 we also recommend first time players check out Ipswich Basketball Association (IBA) Force Future Stars Program. This is a great first step before transitioning into our U8s team.

Fees

Club registration fees

·         U12s - U18s $310 payable per season, 2 seasons in a year

·         U8s - U10s $210 payable per season, 2 seasons in a year

·         WE ARE A VOLUNTEER CLUB AND NEED PARENTS SUPPORT TO THRIVE. Discounts for parents who volunteer to coach or be a committee member

·         Covers your weekly game fees payable to IBA, training venue hire, end of season trophies and medals, and administration costs.

IBA and Basketball Queensland (BQ) fees

·         U10s Registration is approx $55 and Players 10-17 years is approx $116.

·         Covers compulsory insurance and is paid direct to IBA and BQ when you complete the Basketball Connect registration.

We also accept Play On! Vouchers previously known as Fairplay Vouchers.  New round opens 4 August 2025.

Once your child has registered with our club and is on a team, full club fees are LIABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE regardless if your child withdraws from the team before the season ends.  This ensures your teams' costs are covered for the season. Fees are payable upfront and in full at time of registratrion, aligning us to what the other clubs in the association are doing.

When and where do you play?

Game times and locations can vary throughout the season which is why we ask each parent to download the Basketball Connect App and follow their childs team to keep up to date with when and where games are being played.

Games nights are:

·         Monday Nights - Girls Comp from U12 to Open Girls

·         Tuesday Nights – Senior Mens Comp

·         Wednesday Nights - U16 & U18 Boys Comp

·         Thursday Nights - U12 & U14 Boys Comp  

·         Saturday Mornings - U8 Mixed Comp and U10 Boys & Girls Comp

When and where do we train?

Training times and locations will be confirmed once teams are formed for the season.

Uniforms

Playing shorts must be purchased from our online shop for $30. Players can wear plain black shorts with NO POCKETS while they awaiting for their shorts to arrive.

Jerseys will be handed out at the beginning of each game by the coach or team manager.

Coaches

We are a volunteer run organisation, all hands on deck really help our players have a successful season. This means we may call on parents to provide coaching support for their childs team. We do offer discounts for parents who coach either as a head coach or an assistant coach. Please reach out via email or the contact tab at the top of this page for more information.

Parent expectations

We are always looking for people to support with a number of admin roles, team support, end of season event planning, inventory management to name a few. Please reach out via email or the contact tab at the top of this page for more information.

By signing up to Tigers, you are agreeing to score at least 2-3 times per season (based on a team of 7). If you enjoying scoring and want to do it regularly, we can also discuss discounts on fees. Please reach out via email or contact us tab at the top of this page.
