About

Welcome to the home of the Derwent Storms Dragon Boat Club.
We are a sporting dragon boat club and paddle on the beautiful Derwent River with our clubrooms located at the Motor Yacht Club, 1 Ford Parade in Lindisfarne.

Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia and is a major competitive sport for men and women of all ages in most countries. It is a very inclusive sport that is available to almost anyone over the age of 12 years who is looking for a challenge and wanting to improve their fitness.

The majority of our paddlers become extremely fit, and many use dragon boat paddling as a way of channelling their fitness into an enjoyable team sport where we not only meet other fabulous like-minded men and women, but also compete regularly at National competition level (Australian Dragon Boat National Championships, Pan Pacific Masters Games, and Australian Masters Games) each year.

Our club provides paddlers with the opportunity to represent their State, and we have done so now by sending a Tasmanian team to the National Championships since 2010.

New members are very welcome and the club caters for paddlers with fitness and skills ranging from beginners to high intensity sports paddlers.

We invite you to experience dragon boating and all it has to offer.

Derwent Storms Dragon Boat Club is affiliated with the Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF) and is subject to its Policies, including the National Integrity Framework, which can be viewed on the  AusDBF policies webpage
