Volunteer position descriptions for regular training 

Equipment set-up & pack-up

  • Assists the Coaching team to set up for training and competitions
  • Ensures all equipment is packed away at the end of training and competitions

 

Age Marshall

  • coordinates athletes in the age group delegated
  • Picks up the Age Group Folder for age group delegated before commencement of training or competition
  • Marks off all athletes in attendance
  • Required to take athletes to each event on the schedule (for competitions only)
  • Assist with measuring and timing if required
  • Ensure all times/distances are recorded for each athlete
  • Results sheet to be handed to Program Coordinator at the end of the event 

 

Officiating

Finish line

  • follow instructions given by Chief Timekeeper or Chief Place Judge
  • determine and allocate finish placings to competitors
  • timekeep using stop watches
  • provide times to Chief TK or Age Marshall 

Throws

  • follow instructions of technical offiical if present
  • ensure correct weights for age group
  • marshall competitors as required
  • collect and return equipment to throwing area
  • measure throws and provide distances to Age Marshall

Jumps

  • follow instructions of technical offiical if present
  • prepare pit so that it is soft, wet and level
  • sweep board and area as required
  • marshall competitors as required
  • measure throws and provide distances to Age Marshall
  • rake pit after each jump after measuing has taken place

Canteen

  • follow instructions of Canteen Coordinator and or Treasurer
  • ensure EFTPOS machine is operational
  • serve customers and complete financial transactions
  • record sales as per instructions of Canteen Coorindator or Treasurer
  • on closing inform canteen coordinator of low stock items
  • on closing ensure fridge is sealed correctly, any other appliances are turned off, such as sandwich maker
  • clean up any spills and leave canteen area neat and tidy
  • remove rubbish to outside bins

BBQ 

  • follow instructions of Canteen Coordinator or other committee member
  • collect BBQ kit and table from DAC storage room
  • set-up table, BBQ and attach gas bottle (require key from canteen)
  • use resources in BBQ kit to prepare BBQ
  • wash hands thoroughly and or use hand sanitiser
  • collect ingredients from canteen, such as onions, sausages, bread and sauce
  • cook ingredients and have ready for serving at approximately 6:15pm
  • allow time for BBQ to cool then clean BBQ and return uncooked supplies to canteen
