We are a group of Breast cancer survivors and their supporters who paddle a Dragon Boat for fun, friendship and fitness.

We invite anyone who has experienced breast cancer to join us for a paddle on Lake Weeroona. Any level of fitness and any age is welcome. Just try it, it’s a great way to regain upper body strength.

We practice:

Where: Lake Weeroona – Northern End.

When:  Wednesday evenings at 4.45pm. (5.45pm during daylight saving). Saturday mornings at 8.45am.

What:   Lifejackets and paddles supplied.

“I joined last year and it has become an absolute delight to become a paddler!!!

Cancer can be emotionally very isolating and to be part of this team, to belong, to form lasting friendships within an atmosphere of support, fun and excitement, has been an enriching experience.

It’s a great way to become physically stronger, particularly in the lungs, arms and shoulders. Sitting quietly in the boat out in the water is very peaceful.”

"I have been with DA Bendigo for over 5 years and I love it. Everyone was welcoming and very friendly. I look forward to our paddling evenings and also to the social gatherings we have."

"A supportive, fun and friendly group, I am very glad I joined. A great way to exercise, with a group of ladies who all share the same journey, whether it be as a cancer survivor or as support person"
