Thirty-one keen and happy Sea Dragons attended VicChamps2026 last weekend with one clear objective: to give our very best. And that’s exactly what we did!
It was an incredibly busy weekend filled with races. Despite the delays, the team spirit never wavered. Everyone looked after one another – taking turns caring for our younglings while parents were racing, sharing great food, and putting conscious effort into every single stroke on the water.
Without a doubt, our Mixed crews proved to be the ultimate combination, highlighting just how strong we are together. Not a single member backed off – everyone gave their very best in every race and improved each time. Superb work, team!
And what can we say about the Sea‑Niors? Hats off to them for their determination and for being a shining example of persistence and consistency. They stepped onto the podium twice in their categories and also raced in the Premier divisions, never dropping back. Outstanding effort!
Success is never measured by medals alone. All weekend, we witnessed true team spirit and sportsmanship. Every single athlete gave their all in every regatta, and that is what truly matters. This season is about rebuilding, and every race at this regatta helped move us closer to where we want to be.
Kudos and a huge thank you to our four on‑site volunteers, our two paddlers who attended their first-ever regatta, our adult and little companions, and those who support us from home. This weekend would not have been the same without you!
