Family affair for Footscray 2019

In 2017, DBV held its Chinese New Year regatta on the Maribrynong River, Footscray. This was a first at this location and today we returned to a great course for 200m races, backed with a picturesque cityscape. We fielded crews in the Premier Opens 20s, Mixed 20s, Womens 10s and a Masters 10s.

This was the first regatta for members Terri, Jasmin and brothers Baris and Dinys. Well done on your first taste of racing!

Also making his debut was our youngest junior, Bryon, who raced in the same boat alongside big brother Aidan and dad Shane in the Masters 10s. With sister Kaitlyn sweeping the Prems crews and mum Milissa as a DVB official for the day, this certainly was a FAMILY AFFAIR.

At the conclusion of the day, we walked away with some hard fought medals (GOLD in Prem Open 10s, Prem Open 20s and Masters 10s), but more importantly, the knowledge that our CYSM Sea Dragons family is growing and maturing.
