Newsletter WEEK 8 16TH – 22ND JUNE

Here are a few changes that are happening at Central West Gymsports just to keep our members in the loop.

This week is Pyjama Week. We are raising money for the Heart Foundation. Most of you are aware our CWG Manager (Madeleine) is having a second open heart surgery this coming Monday.  We are asking for a gold coin donation for those who wear their PJ’s. All money raised will be going to the Run For Heart fundraiser that Madeleine is doing in the lead up to her surgery. You can also donate via www.runforheart.org.au/fundraisers/madeleinewaters/run-for-heart  Madeleine will be on extended leave from this Friday until further notice, and we wish her all the very best and a speedy recovery.

Welcome to our new members of staff for 2025

·       Taylah, India and Meg

These coaches will be working with various classes and schools, and we are delighted to have them on board.

Congratulations to Coach Brooke on the birth of her beautiful Baby Boy Charlie.   Brooke will be on Maternity leave for the time being.

Our Canteen is now open afternoons and Saturday Mornings for snacks, drinks and on occasion we are planning to do special deals! Do not forget for every hour you volunteer you will receive an entry to go into the draw to win $100 voucher to go towards term fees or the gym shop.  This will be drawn at the end of each term. Please email the club for our volunteer roster if you would like to sign up.

Last week our kids enjoyed a week of Apparatus swap which the kids thoroughly enjoyed.  Gymnasts get to use the Ninja Equipment, and our Ninja Fit kids get to have fun in the gym. Apparatus swap takes place once or twice a term so everyone can enjoy a taste of our different programs.

Congratulations to our Trampoline Athletes Georgie and Zahria who will be representing NSW at the Australian Gymnastics Championships in July.  And to their Coach Aimee who will be one of the NSW Team Coaches this year. Wishing you all the best!! Keep an eye on our socials for updates. GO NSW!!

Due to the extensive flooding in the Gym late last year there was water damage to the existing sprung floor which has now been replaced under insurance. A very big thank you to the parents and staff who helped pack up and remove the old floor and set up the new floor. A huge task made a lot easier with the help of an amazing team. We were also able to get a 12m tumble track at the same time which everyone has been making great use of and having lots of fun.
