The Canberra Times Fun Run is a training program designed for those looking to start their running, return from an injury, get back into running, or increase their distance to 10 km. A friendly, encouraging way to kickstart your running journey with lots of support. This training group culminates in the 5/10 km races in the Canberra Times Fun Run Festival on 1 November 2026.
Commencing: 6 September 2026.
Duration: 8 weeks.
Cost: Canberra Runners member $100, non-member $165 and includes membership for one year.
When: Starting on Sunday, 6 September 2026, we train three mornings a week: Tuesday and Thursday (6:30 a.m to 7:30 a.m) and Sunday (from 7:30 a.m.) for 8 weeks.
Location: Cnr Parkes Place West and King Edward Terrace, Parkes.
Included in your registration fee is:
- A free Running and Shoe Assessment with a Podiatrist at the Walking Clinic.
- A free Injury Screening Assessment with a Physiotherapist at the Canberra Physio Clinic.
- A voucher from The Runners Shop.
- An information session with representatives from the above sponsors talking all things shoes and running.
- 12 months membership with Canberra Runners.
An accredited coach, supported by coaches and runners, leads all sessions.
Join us for coffee or breakfast at a local café following the Sunday run, a great opportunity for a catch-up with other runners.
