The World Athletics Referee Education and Certification System (WARECS) provides a clear pathway for athletics officials to develop their knowledge, skills and experience.

WARECS supports officials to progress from National Athletics Referee (NAR) through to World Athletics Bronze, Silver and Gold Referee levels.

Through education, assessment and practical experience, WARECS helps ensure officials are equipped to apply the World Athletics Competition and Technical Rules confidently, fairly and consistently at all levels of competition.
