About

Carwen Calisthenic College

The establishment of Carwen Calisthenic College dates back to 1949 when Mrs Sue
Hayes decided to introduce Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula to the sport of
calisthenics.

Formally known as Yahl, Frankston and Frankston Peninsula Calisthenic Colleges,
Carwen was born with the amalgamation of two of Mrs Hayes daughters Colleges,
Frankston Peninsula and Seaford.

Carwen Calisthenics is very proud of its history and achievements. Carwen maintains
a strong and successful reputation within Calisthenics Victoria (CV).
Calisthenics fosters confidence, discipline and teamwork whilst providing deportment,
exercise, flexibility, co-ordination and strength for girls of all ages and capabilities. Our
dedicated coaches are committed to the ongoing development of both the pupils
and the college.

Carwen caters for all ages and abilities. We welcome members from aged 3 to adult.
We value all our members and aim to give each student the opportunity to realise their
full potential in a stimulating, accepting and encouraging environment.

In 2025 Carwen Calisthenics is proudly celebrating its 76th year.
