World Parkinson’s Day

Thursday, 2 April 2026 | 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Bundaberg Table Tennis welcomed players, families, carers, and community members to its PingPongParkinson® World Parkinson’s Day Open Day on Thursday, 2 April.

The event celebrated the positive impact that table tennis can have on people living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions, while also providing an opportunity for visitors to learn more about the PingPongParkinson® program.

Attendees enjoyed an afternoon of connection and conversation, meeting regular players and hearing firsthand how table tennis has helped them stay active, build confidence, and form meaningful friendships. Visitors were also invited to try table tennis in a welcoming and supportive environment, with many taking to the tables for their first rally.

A special thank you goes to our regular PingPongParkinson® players for generously sharing their stories and experiences. Their enthusiasm and encouragement are what make this program so special.

We would also like to thank Judy Learmonth from the Bundaberg Parkinson’s Support Group for her generous donation of snacks and refreshments, helping create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone attending.

Finally, thank you to the local media outlets that helped promote the event and raise awareness of the program. The response from the community continues to demonstrate that the impact of PingPongParkinson® is real, and we remain committed to sharing those benefits with more people across the region.

Small steps. Big impact. One rally at a time.
