Just touching base with you to say thanks for coming along to our skater intake sessions.

If you've not returned because you've decided roller derby isn't quite right for you, no hard feelings... we hope you had a fun time with us and would love to see you cheering (trackside) really soon.

If you would like to continue to train with us, we'd love to see you at a few more sessions before the end of the trial to develop the basics of stopping, derby stance, stepping, balance and recovery before we move on to some more advanced skills. Remember that the $40 fee you paid covers you for training and gear hire until the end of 3-week trial period. The insurance waiver you signed on the first day covers you until the end of the trial also.

At the end of your trial, you'll need to decide if you'd like to continue with BCR and become a member with us. The fee for the remainder of the 16-week Learn to Skate program is $110 (this helps us to cover the cost of venue hire and buying equipment), and your BCR introductory membership fee is just $25 (what a bargain!). You’ll also need to sign up for your developmental roller derby insurance ($100) by the end of your trial, which covers you for the remainder of 2026 (or until you’re ready to upgrade to competitive insurance).
