About

The Brisbane Lightning Women's Ice Hockey Team compete at the highest level league in Australia, the Australian Women's Ice Hockey League (AWIHL). 

Founded in 2006 as the Brisbane Goannas, we now compete under the Brisbane Lightning. Our mission is to grow the sport and provide an elite pathway for emerging female players.

The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL), is played as a 20-game season of home and away matches against the Sydney Sirens, Melbourne Ice, Melbourne Ducks, Perth Inferno, and Adelaide Rush, followed by finals playoffs.
