INTRODUCTION
1. Pétanque is a social and competitive game that is inclusive in nature. This is
the ethos of the Bellarine Peninsula Pétanque Club (BPPC).
2. BPPC’s focus is to provide a fun and inclusive environment that enriches our
community, as well as reaping the physical, social and mental health benefits
through playing Pétanque.
3. BPPC is committed to:
- Being ACTIVE
- Making FRIENDS
- ENJOYING social or competitive Pétanque.
BPPC and QBTC Relationship
1. In February 2024 BPPC decided to relocate to a space within the Queenscliff Bowling, Tennis, Croquet Club (QBTC) precinct to provide BPPC with a stable, permanent location, which would allow the BPPC to expand.
2. QBTC has provided financial backing to allow this move to occur and to construct a new petanque playing terrain. In addition, QBTC has allocated the use of a club room facility on site.
3. The relocation to QBTC is conditional upon all BPPC members each taking out and maintaining a QBTC Basic Sports membership, with BPPC continuing to maintain its own identity albeit in cooperation with QBTC.
4. BPPC members apply for QBTC Basic Sports - Petanque membership by completing a QBTC application form and paying the required fee directly to QBTC. BPPC members are then issued with a QBTC member’s card denoting pétanque. A list of QBTC Pétanque members is maintained by QBTC.
This same process is used for the other QBTC sporting sections - Bowls, Pickleball and Croquet.
QBTC Basic Sports membership allows BPPC members to participate in social play at other sports within QBTC, have voting
rights at QBTC meetings and access other club benefits and discounts offered by QBTC.
