Conditions of play

Up to a maximum of 2 Teams per Club from the N&W Region Clubs.

Each Team will comprise 5 Players.

Each Team may have 1 Reserve Player.

Entry fee: $50 per Team to be paid on or before the day of the event to the Host Club.

Playing Sequence

(a) There will be 5 Rounds in the Tournament.
In a Round each Team will play 1 Doubles game and 1 Triples Game.
The 5 Players in a Team may be thought of as labelled A, B, C, D and E for this purpose.
For each Team the player designation by these letters must be lodged with the Tournament Director before play commences and may not (apart from the use of the Club reserve player, if available) be changed throughout the Tournament.
The order in which players compete, Round-by-Round, is as follows:

Round 1: Players A and B will play Doubles, and C, D and E will play Triples
Round 2: Players C and D will play Doubles, and E, A and B will play Triples
Round 3: Players E and A will play Doubles, and B, C and D will play Triples
Round 4: Players B and C will play Doubles, and D, E and A will play Triples
Round 5: Players D and E will play Doubles, and A, B and C will play Triples

(b) Each game will be played to 13 points but timed to 50 minutes.
If at the end of the timed period the result is a tie, one additional end only will be played to break the tie.

(c) 3 Rounds will be played before lunch, 2 Rounds after.
The approximate time schedule is:

Round 1 commences at 10.00 am
Round 2 commences at 11.15 am
Round 3 commences at 12.30 pm
Lunch break
Round 4 commences at 2.00 pm
Round 5 commences at 3.15 pm
Presentation at around 4.30 pm
