Tiny Tots

The Tiny Tots Program is where children from 3-5 years of age commence their Little Athletics journey. Through these positive first experiences in an athletics environment and fundamental skill development, children are more likely to develop a healthy passion for athletics and lifelong enjoyment of participating in sports and physical activity.

Tiny Tots is a modified program designed to develop 3 to 5 year old’s fundamental movement skills of running, walking, jumping and throwing through fun and enjoyable activities. The program aims to improve children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development through an age-appropriate, active, free play-based, engaging, stimulating approach. 

Belconnen Little Athletics provides a Junior Coach who presents the Tiny Tots sessions, with parents actively joining in the session with their child/children. The sessions run for approximately 45 minutes. 

The ‘Tiny Tots’ program:

       Gradually introduces athletes to the skills/events of athletics through drills and games and teaches skills in a sequential format

       Emphasises skill development

       Uses fun equipment and alternatives to official competition areas

       Reinforces skills learnt through fun competition

       Focuses on participation, effort, and improvement.

Most importantly, the Tiny Tots program is FUN!

BLAC will offer Tiny Tots programs on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. 

We recommend registering early for the Tiny Tots program, as it reaches capacity quickly.
