Membership

BCC offers 3 types of Membership

Temporary Membership:

This is an introduction to croquet. It is an opportunity to try the game of golf croquet and meet members of the club.  We currently have two locations where we play.

    • A green at the Belconnen Bowling Club at Hawker; and
    • A croquet specific court at the Aranda Playing Fields behind the Emergency Services Building on Bindubi Street.
  • Maximum of 4 sessions before applying for membership*
  • If you choose the Hawker location, a member will sign you in to the BBC (if you are not a member of Belconnen Bowls Club)
  • A members will sign in via the CNSW app to cover insurance criteria*

*After 4 sessions you can decide if croquet is for you. Note that the maximum number of sessions that insurance cover applies is 6, so the additional 2 sessions provide a final window to apply for croquet club membership, if required.

Full Membership:

  • Includes affiliation with NSW Croquet Association (CNSW), which allows members to compete in tournaments across Australia.
  • Unlimited play at session times (green fees payable) and access to the booking system
  • Access to periodical coaching sessions
  • Participation in BCC events, including Club Championships
  • Exchange of information through regular newsletters, emails and the WhatsApp group
  •  Voting rights and may hold office
  • Purchase of uniform and name badges

Affiliated Membership:

  • This membership is for Croquet NSW players who are members of another club, and are affiliated to Croquet NSW via that club.
  • Annual Membership fee will exclude affiliation fee to CNSW
  • Same benefits as Full membership

If you choose to play at Hawker becoming a member involves two steps. If you choose to play at Aranda, skip Step 1 and go straight to Step 2.

Step 1 
  • Join Belconnen Bowling Club as a playing member over the bar (if you are not already a playing member).
  • Collect your membership card from a box near the office door (includes BBC membership number)

  • Membership will be formally approved by the Committee.
  • You will be notified of the success of your application.

Annual Membership fees for 2025/2026 are:

Belconnen Bowling Club Hawker:

Playing Membership $80 - if playing at Hawker.

See BBC for po rata fees if joining throughout the year.

These fees go towards the maintenance of the greens and club facilities.

Green fees are $15 per session, payable at the bar when you play. 

Belconnen Croquet Club:

Full Membership $90.

Affiliated Membership:$90 less affiliation fee.

Prorata 50% if joining after the end of December.

These fees go towards affiliation with Croquet NSW, insurance and development of our club.

Lawn fees are a one-off $50 (till end of June 2026) when you play at Aranda or if visiting $5/session.

Playing sessions

Session times vary according to the seasons, green availability due to maintenance, social events and bowling commitments (Hawker), ACT Government oval closures (Aranda). Click  here.
