Rossiters Hut Beginner Overnight Hike
Details
Event information
Green rolling hills, granite boulders, grass trees, lovely forested bush tracks and a lovely little quaint hut nestled amongst the pine trees!
What isn’t to love about a scenic midweek to get away from the hustle and bustle of life! This midweek hike is taking place just north of Adelaide near Tanunda in Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park, surrounding farm lands and Mt Crawford Forest. It will follow the Heysen Trail and is an easy overnight hike that is close to Adelaide! There will be a water tank and fire place at the campsite! With a car shuffle, the hike will cover 29kms of trail over the two days. Trip numbers are capped at 7.
This trip involves carrying a hiking pack with all of your gear (such as tent, sleeping bag, water, clothes & meals), Additional costs include fuel split between those carpooling and possible bakery stop if time permits.
Weather: Expect 5-10 degree nights and 15-20 degree days. Rainfall is possible.
This is a beginner hike as it will be all on bush track and fire trails. You do need a base level of fitness. If you have any questions please message me over on Messenger (Zoe Sugerman).
PRICE AND GEAR
A $10 gear use fee applies if you borrow Club gear. Petrol costs will also be split among cars. You'll be instructed on how to pay and pick up gear if you decide to borrow gear. Otherwise since the campsite is free, the hike is free.
ROUGH ITINERARY
