Event information

This event is sold out.

If the event is sold out, you can still join the waiting list here: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/aumountain/events/285947 Stay tuned for more overnight hikes coming soon if you can't make it to this one!

Join us on the first beginner hike of the year - a relatively cruisy 25km section of the Wild South Coast Way, with a good chunk of South Australia's very best summer hiking!

The price is $8 each for camping plus another $10 if you need to borrow gear. To participate, sign up first to reserve your spot then meet us at 9am sharp on Saturday 22nd of March outside the Hartley Building, Kintore Avenue -34.91903697416691, 138.60180159139344. Here is where we'll sort out gear and the car shuffle. I'll also make a Facebook Messenger group chat beforehand so you can ask people questions and make friends.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me via messenger (Daniel Gensemer) or text (0404497812).

You'll need enough fitness to hike 12km for two days with a full pack, on sometimes flat but sometimes fairly hilly terrain. This hike is designed to be easy so you don't need to be super fit to participate. If you want to do more research on our route, it's the 'overnight east end' section of the Wild South Coast Way near Victor Harbor.

You'll need to bring your own food (among other things, list below). Specifically enough for 1 breakfast, 1 dinner, and 2 lunches. Preparing meals can sometimes be hard. If you're new to hiking I suggest you look at sources online for ideas of what food to bring, and read this article from Cam Honan, my personal hero: https://www.thehikinglife.com/2016/08/minimizing-food-and-water-weight/

You'll need a lot of gear for this hike, but all the stuff with asterisks (*) can be borrowed from the club at the event.
