About

The Adelaide University Aikido Club offers training in Shodokan Aikido, also known as Sport Aikido and Tomiki Aikido.

Shodokan Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Kenji Tomiki. It focuses on being aware of your surroundings, avoiding your opponent's attack and using their momentum against them.

The club is open to people of all fitness levels.

The club is associated with Sport Aikido Australia (also known as Oceania Aikido Kyougi Renmei) and Shodokan Aikido Federation (SAF). Australia is a founding member of World Sport Aikido Federation (WSAF).

This club was founded in 1995 by Andrew Bereny Sensei, Rokudan (6th dan). He has more than 35 years of experience in Shodokan Aikido and is supported by a dedicated team of Black Belts (Yudansha) here in Adelaide and Australia.

We welcome you to attend our club for a free introductory lesson.
