CASA has launched an online survey about a proposal to repeal the ADs mandating inspection and replacement of wingbolts that the ABS has argued against for decades. The key part states (at CASA Survey):
The second category of ADs under review relates to Beechcraft wing bolts and associated hardware. These ADs were first issued in February 1996 and apply to certain Beechcraft aircraft including the Bonanza and Baron. In some cases, they require more onerous maintenance actions than the manufacturer’s Instructions for Continued Airworthiness. The State of Design has not issued corresponding ADs on this issue, meaning that Australia’s ADs are unique. CASA has identified 7 ADs in this category. We propose that these ADs be repealed unless there is a clear evidence base to support their retention.
Please open that link, scroll to the end and open the survey link and submit your responses within the next week. It is not very long. Encourage your LAME to do the same. Let's be heard! We do have some members who are both knowledgeable and passionate about this topic, so if you feel you need more information, reach out.
