Tyabb BBQ
Despite some inclement weather, we had a fun gathering at Tyabb airport in Victoria on 13 July for an informal BBQ. A couple of photos below. All members are encouraged to put together something similar locally to gather ABS members for a couple of hours as part of ABS’ social activities.

2025 AGM

The AGM is proving to be one of our most popular events each year as a short trip to an interesting destination at a time of year with reasonable weather in a central location. Come for the whole weekend or just the AGM. Again, the ABS will provide dinner after the AGM.

BPPP 2026
Mark down 19-22 March 2026 in your calendar now for the 2026 BPPP. In an effort to make this the best BPPP yet, both Tom Turner and Bob Ripley will be with us in Cowra next year. Tom will present and be available to discuss issues with attendees as usual. Bob will be present during the Beechcraft Maintenance Reviews and then also will be running a workshop dedicated to LAMES as well. If any member has a topic that they would particularly like either Tom or Bob to address, please let us know at secretary@abs.org.au. Also, if your LAME has never been to a Bob Ripley ABS workshop, get them to reserve Monday 23 March 2026 in their diary.

Formation Flying
Congratulations to Dave Marty and Travis Bamford who successfully completed their formation flying endorsement last month with instructors Murray Gerraty and Graham Bunn. Formation flying is a great addition to a pilot's skills and a good refresher for some on fundamental flying skills. Another formation endorsement session will be held in Cowra later this year. It is a fun new skill to learn even if you do not intend to do much formation flying. If interested, contact Murray.
