It's (almost) Summer Time!

Hi [[FIRST_NAME]],

The sun is out!!! Before we get into it, let's take a trip down memory lane...

Flash Gordon wins the SSANZ Triple Series

Once again Flash Gordon showed its winning ways with consistent first and second placings online in the 3 race series. Sister Moonshine was second and Skitzo was third.

On handicap, Sister Moonshine was first, Inner Circle second, and Babe third.

The Young 88s were again the largest fleet in the series with a total of 13 Young 88s racing in Race 2. The numbers were down from 2024 but it was a great showing and there was some very close racing.

Many thanks to SSANZ for a very well run series and some great racing.

Sprints

The Auckland Sprint races are underway but the more the merrier!

If you're keen on some fast fun racing, then get involved.

Dates to lock in

Summer is (almost) here and Young 88 events are being planned.

  • The first Auckland event is the North Sails Owners’ Champs on the 9th November, hosted by Bucklands Beach Yacht Club. The NoR is now available.
  • The Auckland Champs are scheduled for the 22nd February and the Nationals are from 20-23 March 2026.
  • The Auckland 1-2-3 series for 2026 is scheduled for the 12th April, 17th May and the 14th June.

Masts

We are about to place an order for 4 mast extrusions which will be available via the Young 88 website shop to purchase. They will be stored at YachtSpars’ site in Kumeu, West Auckland and it is intended that the customer would liaise with YachtSpars for the specification and fabrication of the mast.

This will allow a yacht to return to sailing with the minimum of delay should they break a mast
