Pencil it into your calendar, round one of YRA's winter cross country season for our Little (and big!) athletes will be happening on Saturday 22nd April!

We are extremely excited to jump into our much-loved winter XC program, and we can't wait to welcome our new members down for it.

Round 1 YRAXC

What happens on a morning at XC?

Meet at venue for setup from 7:30am, warmups begin from 8:45am, races begin from 9:00am. Wear comfortable running shoes and appropriate clothing based on the weather!

The 500m race is the first event of the day, concluding with the 3000m. Races will be lead by a hare and followed by a tortoise.

Parents are required to volunteer as course marshals to ensure safety of athletes on course at all times. Other mandatory volunteer positions include timekeeper, results recording and finish line tokens. Races will not start without appropriate volunteer positions filled.

Margaret Lewis Reserve, Ingram Rd, Coldstream

Elizabeth Bridge Reserve, Durham Road, Kilsyth

Morrison Reserve, Mt Evelyn


Race distances 500m -U6, 1000m -U7/8, 1500m -U9/10,

2000m -U11/12, 3000m -U13/Open

Junior Ages have a defined distance for their official race.

Registration and Cost:

There is a small cost per round, or a season pass is available. The committee is confirming this cost.

For insurance, any athlete competing must be registered.

All summer registered LAVic members are registered to run, otherwise registrations are available for $80 via LAVic.

Athletes that do not wish to compete in LAVic sanctioned events may register via our social Club43 $25 each, or $50 for a family.
