Water Polo WA seeks expressions of interest from its members for the position of Team Manager for the State Teams.

A 15&U and 17&U, Boys and Girls State Team will compete at the National State Championships in Melbourne from 29 September to 3 October 2026.

Teams will depart Perth on the 27th of September and depart Melbourne the evening of 3rd October 2026.

A Team Manager has responsibility for the well-being of the travelling team and to support their performance both in and out of the pool. 

Responsibilities of Team Managers in conjunction with WPWA include among other things:

  • Supporting the coach in arranging training and squad requirements
  • Collection of required State Team Documentation from athletes and families
  • Co-ordination with WPWA of uniform requirements
  • Food planning, preparation, and delivery at NSC
  • Budget management and accountability during and post NSC
  • Equipment management
  • Ground transport (Managers are required to drive the team vehicle e.g. 8 or 12 seater) 
  • Co-ordination of table official duties
  • Fulfilment of competition requirements as a member of team bench.

The Team Manager has a duty of care to all participants of the team.

  • outlining your previous experience as a team manager or skills you have that would support you in this role, 
  • the team you wish to be considered for and attach a copy of your Working With Children card or indicate willingness to apply for a WWC.
  • Evidence of completion of required Sport Integrity Australia courses or an indication of willingness to undertake the Sport Integrity Australia educational courses as stipulated by Water Polo Australia for Managers at NSC. This includes Antidoping courses and Child Safeguarding courses.
  • Desirable to hold a current First Aid Certificate.

The Team Manager is a voluntary position, however uniform, airfare, ground transport, meals and accommodation will be provided to those selected for interstate events.
