Nominations are open for the 17U Female WA State Team to compete at teh National Championships.

Championship Dates: Saturday 24-27 September 2022.

Venue: Gold Coast Aquatic Centre Southport.

 

If you wish to be considered for selection in the Western Australian State Team you must register by Friday 1 July.

Details you need to be aware of:

1. Selection Policy

The WPWA selection policy is attached for reference

Please note that it is currently proposed to send two 17U Female teams, however this is subject to nomination numbers and the ability to field two competitive teams. WPWAI will only send a development team if it is felt it will be competitive in the National Championships and offer a good devlopment opportunity for players. The teams are not Conference based or age cohort based.  

2. Selection Trial Dates

Sunday 24 July Bicton Pool 4.30-6pm . Athletes to arrive 30 minutes prior to stated start time for warmup and briefing.

It is an expectation that members attend all selection trials to allow coaches and the Independent selection panel the greatest opportunity to assess capability and fit within a team.

If you are unable to attend all selection trials this will need to be discussed with the Coach.

3. Training Expectation Term 3

It is expected that players who nominate for State teams undertake 2-3 swim sessions and 3-4 water polo sessions a week in Term 3 unless extentuating circumstances that should be discussed with the Coach/Manager.

4. Uniform requirements

Post trials all squad members will be expected to purchase the following State Uniform items:

Bathers 

Tshirt

Shorts

An online ordering system will be available post trials, final date TBA.

Samples of bathers, shirts and shorts will be available at Selection Trials for sizing.

The final State Team players will also be required to purchase:

Hoodie

Backpack

(Total cost $145)

WPWA will be seeking sponsorship to underwrite the cost of State Uniform , however sponsorship is not guaranteed at this stage.

There will also be opportunities for supporters to purchase uniform items.

The design of the bathers and shirts is the same as last season with the removal of the term "Squad", the hoodie and backpack incorporate the WPWA logo.

5. Approximate costings

Current estimates for flights, accommodation, land transport and nomination for the Championships are approximately $2800-$3000. This will vary according to venue and numbers attending.

We are endeavouring to minimise costs. State team representation is conducted on a cost recovery only basis by WPWA.  The costs of Coach and Manager are covered by the team.
