Term 3 2026 Operational Guidelines
Whitsunday Sailing Club Off-Beach Operational Guidelines
1. No sailing in winds over 25kts sustained as per WSC determined parameters.
2. No Juniors Sailing outside moorings in over 20kts sustained.
3. Radio comms, closed-loop communications required. Parent volunteer to “Man” shore based radio. Instructors will brief new parents.
4. Recommended 1 safety boat per 6 sail boats.
5. 2 persons in safety boats in over 20kts. Club’s expectation of parental volunteers to man safety boats, if qualified and called upon.
6. Calling off racing is a decision to be made by Club Officials
· The decision for a sailor to race is up to the sailor himself and/or his or her parent
7. Please encourage sailors to self rig own dinghy. All club equipment to be derigged and washed thoroughly, stored appropriately.
8. When a sailor is on the water, there must be a parent, guardian or designated person on standby at WSC.
9. Sunday Sailors:
Please follow the family roster as best as practicable. When unable to fulfil a rostered day, please find replacement coverage.
