At a special committee meeting held on Monday, 30 June 2025, Wenty Leagues Squash Club confirmed a new leadership team, signalling a fresh direction as the club moves into the second half of its 2025 calendar.
Graeme Mitchell has stepped into the role of President following the resignation of John Musumeci. A former Secretary for 10 years and recently elected Club Captain at the AGM, Graeme brings a collaborative, team-focused approach to club leadership. With his appointment as President, the role of Club Captain has now been taken on by Rob Cole—a popular club member and the current West District delegate to Squash NSW.
Gillian Kirby has been appointed as Vice President. A past team selector and well-respected player with many years of involvement in club activities, Gillian will bring renewed perspective and support to the executive team.
The rest of the committee remains unchanged:
The club also acknowledges the outstanding contributions of outgoing Squash Club Vice President and Life Member Rob Spooner, a Wenty Leagues Club member for over 50 years, whose long and distinguished service to the squash club spans more than 35 years. Rob has held key roles in the Committee, and has been an instrumental figure in both the governance and community culture of the club. His steady guidance, historical knowledge, and behind-the-scenes commitment have left a lasting legacy. We thank Rob for his tireless service and support over the years.
We also thank outgoing President John Musumeci for his leadership and dedication during his term, particularly in strengthening club operations, championing new events, and improving communication and systems. His efforts have provided a strong platform for the new committee to build upon.
The club looks forward to continuing its season under this new leadership team, and we thank all members for their ongoing support.
Cheers,
The WLSC Committee
