SCRD - Waterview Heights Squash Club Drives Digital Innovation with New Scoring System

Published Thu 04 Jun 2026

Waterview Heights Squash Club (WHSC) is taking a major leap into the future, announcing a new partnership with SCRD, an innovative Australian-built digital scoring platform designed specifically for the sport.

In a move aimed at modernising club operations and enhancing the player experience, WHSC is embracing online systems to streamline competition management. The collaboration with SCRD marks a significant step forward, with the club playing a key role in shaping the platform’s development.

SCRD is a brand-new scoring solution created by squash players, for squash players — a distinction that sets it apart from more generic systems. After connecting with the SCRD development team, WHSC quickly established itself as a "early founding club" partner, with an aim to help refine the platform to ensure it can adapt to a wide range of club formats and competition styles.

This flexibility addresses one of the long-standing challenges faced by squash clubs: traditional scoring platforms often struggle to accommodate diverse competition structures. SCRD aims to change that, offering a highly adaptable system capable of supporting everything from casual social play to structured pennant competitions, as well as some very cool localised integration with court side TV displays, bringing another level of entertainment to the game of squash.

The technology itself is designed with simplicity in mind. Players or scorers can start a match by scanning a court-specific QR code using their mobile phone, instantly accessing the scoring interface — no app required. Once the match concludes, results are automatically stored online, giving administrators immediate access to match data without manual entry. All you need is a mobile data connection.

The platform is also set to evolve rapidly, with additional features and enhancements planned over the coming months as feedback is gathered from real-world use.

WHSC is working closely with SCRD founder Paul and his team to expand the platform’s capabilities, positioning the club at the forefront of digital innovation in grassroots squash.

The club is targeting a rollout of the new system for its Monday and Thursday competition nights, with full implementation planned ahead of the 2026 Pennant Season 3 competition in July.

As community clubs across Australia look for smarter, more efficient ways to operate, Waterview Heights Squash Club is leading by example — embracing technology to deliver a better, more connected playing experience for its members.
