VVESC Annual General Meeting
Club AGM was held on Monday evening [23 June]. There was a large number of attendees from across all of our club teams and it is great to see so much support and interest from our club members.
As part of this AGM, we have had a number of personnel changes within the committee with new members elected to Executive, Officer and general committee roles.
Looking forward, I want to continue the clubs focus on strengthening communication, improving transparency in decision-making, and working collectively to build a more inclusive and resilient club environment. I’m pleased to report meaningful progress in these areas, thanks to the ongoing collaboration between the committee, players, coaches, volunteers, and broader club community.
The 2025/26 VVESC Committee is as follows:
Vice President – Hayley Mayer
Assistant Secretary – Natalie Turner
Treasurer - Sharee Forrester
Umpires Co-ordinator – VACANT
Uniforms Officer - Kim Sanderson
Equipment Officer – Tracey Cain & Mim Luksa
Junior Development Officer – VACANT
Fundraising Officer – VACANT
Technology Officer (website/social media) – Keryn Brennan & Caitlyn Cattuzzo
General Committee Members: Kelly Butler, Aaron Gill, Scott Humphrys, Chantelle Humphrys, Melanie Luksa, Lisa Wilson, Belinda Yard.
I would like to sincerely thank last season’s entire committee, who contributed their time, energy, and ideas throughout the season. We could not have achieved so much without your support and efforts.
I would especially like to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to Cathy Gregory for her incredible service and dedication over the years as Club President. Whilst stepping down from her President role, Cathy will still continue to support the club including umpiring within the NAMSA competition on Friday nights, support club fundraising activities and continue to be a part of the club.
Cathy’s commitment to the club has gone far beyond what anyone could expect or ask for. From her time as a player to her tireless efforts in fundraising, organising club events, supporting players, families and club members, Cathy always stepped in when something needed to be done. Cathy has always led with passion, patience, and generosity, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone involved.
The hard work Cathy always put in behind the scenes often went unnoticed, but it never went unappreciated.
So this is certainly not a goodbye forever but a ‘see ya around’!
2025/26 Coaching Applications
Coaching Applications for the 2025/26 have now officially closed.
A panel comprising of two executive committee members and an external person will be formed to review the applications received, complete reference checks and interviews (if needed) and prepare a recommendations report for the committee.
If any vacancies are identified, the committee will seek to re-advertise and also reach out to potential candidates.
Updates will be regularly shared with club members, however we will look to announce coaching appointments before the end of July to allow for club pre-season training to commence.
Now that the 2024/25 season has ended, all official club communications will be shared via our Facebook pages and via email.
I understand that many teams had their own message or chat groups for last season, these are no longer relevant to the upcoming season and whilst you are welcome to continue using them for your own personal messaging, there will be no formal club information shared into these groups.
This is also important to note because as we start advertising for players for the upcoming season, we want to ensure all players, parents and coaches have a 1-stop shop for information and that until squads are announced by coaches for the new season, that no one feels ostracised or left out.
In addition, the committee are exploring new apps and platforms for the upcoming season to help improve the club’s communication to all players and members. More information about this will be released in the future.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me directly but in the meantime stay tuned for more updates.
